FOR UK AND INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS
THE PSYCHOEDUCATION STUDIO
Where students think through the topics that shape their lives, and create the work that proves they have understood them.
A psychoeducation programme led by a psychologist, made in collaboration with a professional production company. Across a series of structured sessions and one filming day, students explore a topic chosen by the school and co-create a piece of work the school is proud to publish.
Who is it for
Parents looking for proof, students looking for a voice, and schools looking for an authentic asset that lasts.
PARENTS AND FAMILIES
Parents now expect more than academic excellence. They want evidence that their child will be known, stretched, supported and safe inside a culture that genuinely demonstrates belonging, wellbeing and inclusion. The Studio helps parents to see the qualities they value most, through work their children develop and can show their authentic selves.
STUDENTS
As AI reshapes education, the skills that remain ‘human only’ become the ones that matter: emotional intelligence, ethical judgement, communication, empathy, creativity and critical thinking. The Studio helps students by creating a space where those skills are developed, allowing them authorship, giving them the language to think through the topics that shape their lives and the space to create something they are proud to be part of.
SCHOOLS
Schools are being asked to do more with less, and to prove their pastoral and wellbeing care, not just deliver it. The Studio helps schools by turning one project into several outcomes at once: student development, inspection evidence mapped to ISI, KCSIE and PSHE, and a broadcast-quality asset the school owns and reuses across admissions, open days, parent communication and more.
The Psychoeducation Studio goes beyond a marketing campaign. It brings authenticity and psychology insight together to create deeper student engagement and lasting outputs for the school.
One project answers several needs at once: student development, student voice, inspection evidence, and broadcast-quality media the school owns and reuses.
One investment, several outcomes

What the Studio produces, in practice
The film below was made with students at UTC Birmingham in collaboration with The Diana Award and Head & Shoulders, on the subject of bullying. The students wrote, performed and co-directed the work. It captures the kind of output a class can produce when the conversation underneath it has been done well.
“Such a powerful film. Thank you for your support, Juliana!”
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What schools usually ask before booking
-
All three at once. The discussion sessions are structured psychoeducation delivered by a psychologist. The filming day is a professional production. The whole arc together is a wellbeing engagement that produces tangible evidence the school can use.
-
The school does. Heads of Pastoral, Deputy Heads or Heads of Year typically select the topic. The right fit is discussed on the discovery call and confirmed in the proposal.
-
Up to thirty per class go through the psychoeducation sessions together. On the filming day, students self-select into a smaller acting or presenting team and a larger production team. Every student has a role.
-
Typically from year 7. The fit between cohort and output is discussed on the discovery call.
-
Two psychoeducation sessions and one filming day per class is the usual shape, though pacing is flexible and agreed with the school. The sessions can run as weekly visits or as concentrated half-day blocks, depending on the timetable.
-
Fully informed consent is given to the school to liaise with parents and carers before the programme begins. Where parents consent to participation but not to filming, students join the production team behind the cameras. The school signs off the script and storyboard before filming, and signs off the final edit after one round of revisions. Safeguarding protocols and a clear referral pathway are confirmed with the school in advance.
-
The school, in full. Files, masters, rights and use. Whether the work is published or kept for internal use is the school's decision, and any use made of it by GivingBack Films is agreed with the school in advance.
-
Yes, and we encourage it. A teacher close to the subject can work alongside us in every session, supporting the discussions and linking the work to what students are learning elsewhere. Teachers can also appear in the output where appropriate, particularly in podcasts, where multigenerational conversations are encouraged.
THE NEXT STEP
Begin with a discovery call.
A short conversation to understand the topic the school is considering, the cohort in mind, and whether the Studio is the right fit. By the end of it, both sides know whether to move to proposal. A detailed prospectus follows.
Juliana responds to every enquiry personally, usually within three working days.
